Keep your head up…
I was fortunate enough to capture this yesterday, not just with my phone but in my heart 💚 It’s not always the case because often when my husband drives on family days out, I catch up on some work, whether that be an Instagram check in, updating my website or dreaming up my next yoga sequence. I like the idea of using a car journey to be ‘productive’ but this often means my head is down and my focus elsewhere. It was my 10 year old son that inspired me to put my phone away when he shouted out “wow, look at the view. We are so lucky to live near a place like this”. A few miles later we slowed down to let these beautiful wild ponies cross the road. (I confess to getting my phone out so I could take a photo but immediately returned it to my bag!) We had the windows down, breeze in our hair and a golden sunset behind us. It was a lovely drive home spent chatting and soaking up the breathtaking scenery. I was totally engaged, fully connected and it was a refreshing experience. It was a gentle and necessary reminder for me to review my boundaries and stay present. I don’t want to miss the good stuff 🧡
